Cardinals, Warner Robbed Of Super Bowl Victory

Kurt Warner’s arm in forward motion; refs fumble call on the last play

nfl_arizona_cardinals_1In the last ten seconds of Super Bowl 43, Kurt Warner made the effort to find a wide receiver to pass the ball to. Without any luck, the Steelers defensive linemen closed in on him. Yet, Warner, gave it one last effort to get the ball off, to avoid a sack.

With Warner’s arm in forward motion, a Steeler lineman swatted the ball into the ground. The ball was quickly recovered by the Pittsburgh Steelers, giving them position with only 5 seconds left. The refs called it a fumble, robbing the Cardinals and Warner of their chance for a Super Bowl victory.

NFL officials refused to review the video footage upstairs in the booth, automatically pronouncing the Steelers the winners. All the Steelers had to do was let 5 seconds run off the clock, as the refs and NFL officials fumbled the call.

In a tight Super Bowl game, with the Steelers at 27, and the Cardinals at 23, shouldn’t the officials examine the video footage more closely? At least to ensure the right call was made. But they didn’t, even though there was a close 4-point difference.

The Arizona Cardinals were gaining momentum in the last seconds of the game. All they needed was a single pass from Warner to Fitzgerald to win.

Mike Periera the head of officiating stated on NFL network that they were getting ready to kick the extra point, so the officials weren’t looking.( at the jumbotron either, a joke) A player grabbed Kurt Warners jersy to stop him from tackling Harrison, I think that is holding, also, Pittsburgh did some illegal blocking during the run back.
Harrison is a dirty player, he was punching a guy when he was down, even John Madden took note. I never saw any Cardinal “mugging ” Harrison. Anyway, Arizona Cardinals true Super Bowl Champs!!

Here’s a picture of the Cardinals imaginary Superbowl trophy. ( ). It’s right there between the parenthesis. Isn’t it a thing of beauty? Not nearly as nice as the 6 real trophies in the case at Heinz Field, but equally representative of the team’s accomplishment.
